What You Can Expect in a Session

Maria creates a supportive atmosphere that encourages honest and respectful communication. Maria will provide a safe,non-judgmental and confidential space where you can both openly discuss your concerns, feelings, and experiences. Maria will actively listen to each partner’s viewpoint, and show empathy and understanding and ensure both perspectives are acknowledged.

The first session typically begins with an exploration of the relationship,  history and the issues you are facing in your relationship. This may involve discussing your relationship background, current challenges, and individual perspectives.

Maria will help you both to explore and identify the key issues in your relationship. This may include communication styles and problems, underlying issues such as trust, unresolved conflict, past traumas or emotional disconnects that may be affecting your relationship. Maria will identify negative patterns in the relationship such as blame, criticism or withdrawal. Maria will provide various strategies and techniques to improve communication, active listening and conflict resolution.

Maria will introduce strategies and techniques to help  you both address your concerns. This might include communication exercises, conflict resolution techniques, or activities to enhance intimacy and connection. You may also be assigned homework or exercises to practice between sessions, reinforcing what was discussed during the session.

Sometimes individual issues such as anxiety, depression, childhood or past traumas may be impacting your relationship. Maria may recommend individual sessions in addition to the couples sessions. The process often involves personal growth for both partners helping them to become more self aware and emotionally resilient.

Each session concludes with a reflection period, where you have the opportunity to clarify and review what was discussed, share any insights gained, and plan for the next steps.

How A Holistic Relationship

Session Works

Your holistic session begins with a counselling conversation, giving you the opportunity to discuss your relationship, issues, conflicts, and goals. The session follows the same principles and format as relationship counselling sessions.

Following the counselling portion, the session transitions into energy healing. You and your partner can remain seated and hold hands while Maria uses various techniques to work with your physical and energy bodies, facilitating deep healing. This phase includes deep breathing exercises and guided relaxation to help you reach a state of calm.

During this phase, Maria will address the emotions and issues impacting your relationship, guiding you both through a process that allows for subconscious acknowledgment, feeling, processing, and releasing of the layers of emotions and blockages contributing to the challenges in your relationship. She will connect you heart to heart, soul to soul, clearing any blockages, negativity, and conflict, allowing a deeper connection to form and clarity to flow through. The energy healing will help you and your relationship become more in tune with each other, strengthening your bond and connection.

The session concludes with a debrief, where you and Maria discuss the energy work and any insights gained. This final step helps integrate the healing process, ensuring that you both leave feeling supported, grounded, and ready to move forward.

Online Sessions

Online counseling via Zoom video calls provides an accessible option for those who may find it challenging to attend in-person sessions. This service is available to clients regardless of their location, offering the same principles as face-to-face counseling but in a virtual setting. These sessions remain confidential and private, adhering to the code of ethics set by PACFA.

Research shows that online counseling is just as effective as in-person sessions.
